Waitrose 2019 deals: top vouchers, rewards and offers

Updated on 03 July 2019 | 1 Comment

New and existing Waitrose shoppers can cut their grocery bills with these vouchers, rewards and offers.

Waitrose is often seen as a supermarket that sells more luxurious products (with typically higher prices to match), but there are many deals, vouchers and discounts that can slash your food bill.

We’ve brought together a few ways to start saving, without changing your shopping list.

This is just a brief snapshot of Waitrose deals and discounts currently on offer.

For a comprehensive guide to saving every time you shop, read this article on Waitrose shopping tricks, tips and strategies.

Get it delivered

Potential savings: £100

Waitrose has its own online delivery service, separate from Ocado.

The supermarket chain currently offers new customers £100 off their first five shops.

You’ll get £20 off each of your first five shops and free next day delivery on each shop.

The catch is you’ll need to spend at least £80 per shop, so it may help you fully stock up your cupboard or freezer.

You’ll also need to get all five shops delivered before 6 August 2019.

Use the following Waitrose codes when making your purchase:

First shop: AQ2J191

Second shop: NQ2J192

Third shop: NQ2J193

Fourth shop: NQ2J194

Fifth shop: NQ2J195

Use a Partnership Credit Card

Potential savings: At least £35

Whilst in-store cards aren’t always a good idea, the John Lewis and Waitrose Partnership Card could save you money.

You’ll earn one point for every £2 spent anywhere else Mastercard is accepted – and double the amount of points for spending the same amount at Waitrose or John Lewis.

Your points are added up three times a year – in February, June and October – and vouchers are sent based on how much you’ve spent.

You can a £5 gift voucher for every 500 points you earn, which can be spent in John Lewis or Waitrose.

Cardholder Exclusives are also available for Partnership Credit Card holders.

You’ll also get 0% interest on purchases with the Partnership Credit Card for the first nine months from account opening.

There’s no fee for the card, but you’ll want to avoid the interest rate of 18.9% by paying off the balance every month.

John Lewis has an online calculator to work out how much the card could save you.

The average amount of spending on food and non-alcoholic drinks between April 2017 to March 2018 was around £60, according to the Office for National Statistics.

If you spent £75 every week at Waitrose, you would get £35 in vouchers over the course of one year.

But you could boost your free vouchers if you’re a keen Waitrose and John Lewis shopper, or if you use the credit card to pay for eating out and petrol.

Join MyWaitrose

Potential savings: Approximately £250

MyWaitrose is the supermarket’s loyalty scheme, which is free to join.

Unlike Tesco’s Clubcard scheme, or Sainsbury’s Nectar, you don’t earn points, but members do get a couple of perks.

Most famously, you’ll get a free hot drink each time you visit a store and buy something, but you’ll need to bring your own reusable cup.

You can also get a free newspaper if you spend £10 or more in store, or at least £60 online. You’ll also get 20% off fish from the fish counter on Fridays.

Other perks include money off specific events and access to competitions.

We’ve found shoppers can save approximately £250 if they buy a coffee and the Sunday Times once a week over a year.

Clearly, MyWaitrose works best if you live near a store.
