Over in Chattaroy, Washington, you'll find a home that was named The Fortress – and for good reason. The property was original built and owned by the notorious CV Meyers, who had an anti-government publication in the 1970s.

According to listing agent, Amy Delducco, he had quite the following at the time and wasn't short on money. It is said that he was hoarding gold when it was illegal and he ended up in jail for tax evasion. But Meyers certainly knew how to create an impenetrable home...

For the build, Meyers hired architect Tim Rundquist of Rundquist & Associates. Located in Polk County, Tennessee, the one-of-a-kind home was custom built from top to bottom – and clearly the owner was concerned about a future nuclear disaster or life-altering storm...
