We reveal the last Christmas order dates for some of the biggest online retailers. Make sure you order in time so that your gifts arrive before Christmas!

If you want to avoid a mad dash to the shops on Christmas Eve, here’s our rundown of those all-important ‘last order’ delivery dates.

Please note the below dates are ordered by the last day you can buy any gifts from specific retailers and get them delivered via standard delivery, so they arrive before Christmas.

We have also included details for next-day delivery and delivery costs where possible.

17 December

New Look

You should place your order by 17 December for standard delivery, which is free for orders of at least £50, or by 21 December for next-day delivery.

New Look offers standard and next-day Click & Collect, but the standard service varies by store. For next-day Click & Collect, you’ll need to order by 21 December.

Standard delivery costs £2.99 for orders under £50 and next-day delivery costs £5.99. Click & Collect costs vary.

18 December

Lakeland

You can order any Christmas gifts up to midnight on Monday 18 December for UK standard delivery, but gift-wrapped purchases must be ordered by midnight on Friday 15 December.

You can also get express delivery up until 7pm on Thursday 21 December.

Standard delivery is free for orders of up to £60, rising to £3.95 for orders under this amount. Meanwhile express delivery sets you back £3 for orders over £60 or £6.95 for smaller spends.

Currys PC World

If you’re ordering a large item like a washing machine and want it to arrive before Christmas, you’ll need to order by Wednesday 21 December for standard delivery.

Smaller items need to be ordered by Sunday 18 December for standard delivery or by 22 December for next-day delivery.

Supermarket opening times during the festive period

Dunelm

If you’re making use of standard delivery ‒ which is free when you spend over £49, or else costs £3.49 ‒ you have until midnight on 18 December. With furniture orders you have until midnight the next day.

There is also the express delivery option, allowing you until 20 December, though it costs £5.95.

Fragrance Direct

With Fragrance Direct you want to get those orders in by midnight on 18 December for tracked deliveries.

Alternatively you have until 21 December if you want to use the next day delivery or click and collect services. 

Tracked delivery is free on orders above £25, or else £3.95. Next day delivery will set you back £5.95, while click and collect costs £5.99.

Office

Order by 11:30pm on 18 December for standard delivery and by 4pm on 21 December for next-day delivery.

You have until 5:30pm on 18 December to order any items via Click & Collect, which is free.

Standard delivery costs £4.99 or is free for orders over £80, while it costs £5.99 for next-day delivery.

The Body Shop  

Order before midnight on 18 December for super saver delivery or standard delivery or by midnight on 21 December for express delivery.

Delivery costs start from £3.49 (super saver delivery is free when you spend £35) but you can collect items in-store for free.

The White Company

You should get your orders in by midnight on Tuesday 19 December for standard delivery or for collection, or by midday on Thursday 21 December for next-day delivery.

UK standard delivery and is free for orders over £50 or £3.50 for orders under this amount, while next-day delivery (which is temporarily unavailable) costs £7.95.

Waterstones

The last day for UK online orders sent by second-class post is Monday 18 December, but for first-class delivery, you’ve got until Wednesday 20 December.

Click and Collect is free and is available until Christmas Eve.

Delivery is free for orders over £25 or it costs £2.99 for second-class delivery or £3.99 for first-class.

19 December

Amazon

You should order any items from Amazon for standard delivery by the evening of 19 December if you want them to arrive before Christmas.

Delivery charges can vary but you can get free premium and same-day delivery with an Amazon Prime membership.

What to do if your Amazon package doesn't arrive

Argos

You can order until 19 December with Argos to get large items in time for Christmas. Delivery costs start at £6.95.

Smaller items can be ordered up until as late as Christmas Eve, with costs starting at £3.95.

Boden

You have until 19 December to get your orders in with Boden if you’re relying on standard delivery. It’s free when you spend over £50, or else £3.95.

You have a little longer for getting in orders for express delivery ‒ get it in by 5pm 21 December. It costs £7.95.

Boots

You need to get your order in by 19 December at Boots for standard deliveries. It costs £3.95, but is free when you spend over £25.

There is also next day delivery, costing £4.95, but you only have until 21 December.

Charles Tyrwhitt

You need to stick your order in by midnight on 19 December for Christmas deliveries here.

Standard costs £4.95, though remember there is also the click and collect option which is absolutely free.

River Island

For standard deliveries from River Island ‒ and click and collect ‒ you need to get those orders in by midnight on 19 December. 

You can leave the ordering until 21 December if you use the next day delivery service.

Standard delivery is free when you spend over £50, or else £4. Next day delivery costs £6. 

20 December

ASOS 

For standard delivery (free for orders over £40), you’ve got until 20 December to get your orders in, while the last date for next day delivery is 23 December.

You can also use standard or next-day Click & Collect. For standard Click & Collect, you need to order by 20 December and for the next-day service, you’ll need to order by 22 December. 

Standard delivery or Click & Collect costs £4.50 for orders under £40 while next-day delivery (or Click & Collect) costs £5.95.

Footasylum

Get your order with Footasylum in by midday on 20 December for standard deliveries. You get an extra day if you’re happy to pay for next day delivery.

At Footasylum standard delivery costs £3.99 (or is free when you spend above £70), while next day delivery costs £5.99.

Hotel Chocolat

If you want to get your loved ones a chocolatey treat for Christmas, then you have until 20 December to order from Hotel Chocolat for standard deliveries.

Alternatively you have until Thursday 21 December for next day delivery or 22 December for guaranteed delivery. Standard delivery starts at £3.95, while other methods start at £4.95.

John Lewis

With John Lewis you need to get your orders in by 9am on 20 December. It’s free when you spend over £50 or else £4.50.

There’s also the next day delivery, where you have until 22 December, or click and collect until 23 December. Next day delivery will set you back £7.50.

Urban Outfitters

If you’re picking up Christmas presents from Urban Outfitters then you need to get your order in by 20 December for standard deliveries. It’s free if you spend over £30, or else costs £3.99.

There’s also express delivery, costing £5.99, and you have until 21 December.

22 December

Next

You’ve got until 22 December to get your orders in for delivery to your home from Next. However, if you’re happy to head into a store and pick up your order you have until midday on 23 December.

Delivery to the store is free, but you’ll have to pay £4.95 for items delivered to your home unless you have the Next Unlimited delivery saver pass, which costs £22.50 a year. 

23 December

Marks & Spencer

M&S says you can place orders for clothing and home up until 23 December “though these are subject to change”.

Delivery costs vary depending on what you order.
