One low-fuss alternative is the M&S Valentine's Day meal deal for two, which is available in stores from today until 14 February and will set you back £25 again this year.

What you get in the M&S Valentine's Day meal deal
The first thing that jumps out about the latest meal deal is how much pricier it is than the other Dine In deals available at M&S. These are priced between £7 and £15 and many will actually feed a family of four, whereas the Valentine's deal is unsurprisingly just for two people.
However, it's worth stressing that the M&S Valentine's Day meal deal is by far the most decadent, offering a three-course meal, side and a choice of prosecco, wine or cocktail cans.
Is the M&S Valentine's Day meal deal good value?
Given that it's a 'meal deal', it's obviously a lot cheaper than buying menu items separately.
In fact, M&S states you can save up to £17.50 if you go for the priciest menu items available in the Valentine's Day Dine In deal, so there's no question it's still good value if you're a fan of M&S food.
However, it is a lot pricier than rival offers.
Probably the main one to highlight is Tesco's Valentine's Day meal deal, which also comes with a starter, main, side, dessert and drink but will only set you back £18.
Admittedly, you must be a Clubcard holder to qualify, but that's still a big saving.
So if price is what matters most to you, then you will likely be better off choosing a rival meal deal.
Of course, some people will simply prefer M&S food over the likes of Tesco, meaning it isn't just about how much it costs.
