Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banking Group closures: full list of affected branches

Updated on 20 January 2017 | 1 Comment

We reveal the 79 Clydesdale and Yorkshire bank branches that will be closed as part of its strategic shakeup.

Yet more banks are set to disappear from the high street after the Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banking Group (CYBG) announced plans to close 79 branches.

The closures will take place over the next six months and will see 400 staff lose their jobs.

The group claimed the move was a response to “changes in the way customers want to bank with us”.

Gavin Opperman, customer banking director at Yorkshire Bank, added: “The changes announced today continue our journey towards a model that combines an enhanced digital platform with a right-sized branch network; allowing customers to interact with us through a wide range of channels – mobile, online, telephone, in-branch – whenever and however they want.”

The bank will start placing posters in the windows of affected branches, while customers will be sent a letter at least 12 weeks before their branch closes, informing them how to find their nearest branch that will actually stay open.
