Where to find cheap fireworks 2025: best UK supermarket deals for Bonfire Night

If you're planning to celebrate Bonfire Night 2025, you could bag some cheap fireworks deals at participating major UK supermarkets.

Bonfire Night 2025 is just around the corner, and major UK supermarkets are already stocking up on fireworks.

Whether you’re after a small home display or an all-out showstopper, you could bag some great deals this year.

It’s also worth remembering that fireworks will be available from specialist outlets too, in case your local supermarket doesn’t have a good range in stock.

A quick introduction to fireworks

Fireworks are great fun, but all these different names can be confusing.

We’ve given you a quick rundown of the most popular types of fireworks.

Cake: A multi-shot firework made up of several tubes joined together and fired in sequence. Each tube launches a burst into the air, creating a continuous, layered display without the need to relight between shots.

(Roman) candle: A long cardboard tube that fires a series of single shots into the air, each producing a spark or burst. You light it once and it sends up several separate effects in sequence.

Finale: Fireworks reserved for the end and noisier than the others.

Fountain: A static firework that creates a fountain effect and a crackly sound when ignited.

Mine: All of the elements of the firework are lit at the same time and shoot upward from a cardboard tube.

Rocket: A firework that takes off and displays its effects in the air.

Wheel: Also known as the Catherine Wheel, these fireworks spin quickly to create a wheel of sparks.

Check your home insurance

Don't get hit by horrible surprise costs after the event – make sure you have comprehensive buildings and contents insurance.

If you damage your property with a stray firework, for example, this can be claimed under a comprehensive buildings insurance accidental damage cover plan.

Stay safe

There are also certain precautions to keep in mind before the day. Fireworks should always be kept in a sealed tin and used one at a time.

Check for BS EN 15947 or CE markings, which confirm they’ve been made to meet British or European safety standards.
