Tesco shoppers warned: up to £18m in vouchers about to expire

Shoppers who still have Clubcard vouchers issued in February 2022 are being told to use them by month-end or lose them.

Shoppers who have older Clubcard vouchers have been warned to use them by midnight (31 January) or lose them for good.

Tesco warns that there are a whopping £18 million worth of vouchers first issued in February 2022 that have yet to be redeemed.

Tesco vouchers are valid for two years, meaning they expire at the end of January.

If you're unsure whether you have any that are about to expire, you can log into your Clubcard account and check there.

Extend your Clubcard voucher's life

If you do have a bunch of vouchers that are about to become worthless but don't have anything practical to redeem them on just yet, there is a way to extend the life of most of your balance.

As highlighted by Moneysavingexpert here, you just need to make the smallest possible purchase on the 'Spend Clubcard vouchers' page for each voucher you own.

As you can see from the screengrab below, there are a bunch of top-up vouchers that you can buy for as little as 50p.

So, let's assume you have two £5 Clubcard vouchers. By redeeming them on a couple of 50p purchases, you'll then have two shiny new vouchers worth £4.50 that'll be good for another couple of years.

It's not the perfect solution, but it's certainly better than wasting your vouchers on something you'll never need or use!
