Tesco announces £50 Clubcard 'challenge'
Millions of Tesco customers will soon have the chance to take part in a series of challenges that could see them winning up to £50 in extra Clubcard points.
The promotion, which will launch at some point in May, will see invited Clubcard holders receive a list of 20 tasks that have been personalised for them by the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
They will need to complete 10 of these challenges over the next six weeks and if they're successful then the reward will be up to £50 in Clubcard points – which could be worth up to £100 if you switch them to vouchers to be spent with a Clubcard reward partner.
The tasks, which will vary for each customer, could include spending £10 on plant-based meals or £20 on the supermarket's BBQ range.
Of course, while these short-term promotions are always welcome, it’s far more beneficial long term to earn Clubcard points every time you shop.

Tesco's flagship loyalty scheme is known as Clubcard, which lets shoppers collect one point (worth 1p) for almost every £1 spent at Tesco as well as offering discounted prices on selected items when you shop.
If you plan to shop at Tesco, even sporadically, you should definitely make signing up to Clubcard your first priority.
You can use the points you rack up to get money off future Tesco shops, or you can use them at selected Tesco partners where they're worth up to three times their face value.
If you regularly shop in-store at Tesco it might be worth paying for Clubcard Plus. It'll set you back just under £8 a month but you will get 10% off all your groceries (in-store only), so if you spend more than £80 a month you'll be quids in.
Pay with the right credit card
Tesco Clubcard credit cards are a great way to earn extra Clubcard points wherever you shop.
You'll generally earn one Clubcard point for every £4 spent in Tesco and one point for every £8 spent outside Tesco.
That's not a huge amount, but crucially you'll earn them in addition to your Clubcard loyalty points, meaning you could earn a total of five points for every £4 you spend.
Obviously, make sure you clear your debt in full each month or you'll rack up far more costly interest charges.
Double your points and cut your phone bill
Tesco Clubcard members can use their points to pay their Tesco Mobile phone bill.
With Pay Monthly contracts, you collect a point for every £1 spent on your mobile phone bill. With Pay as you go, it will be one point for every £1 you top-up.
Therefore, if you have 200 Clubcard points, you can save £2 on your Tesco Mobile bill.

Fuel your motor
You can collect one Clubcard point for every two litres of fuel you buy at a Tesco Petrol Filling Station.
In addition, you earn one point for every £1 spent on qualifying purchases other than fuel.
At Esso petrol stations with a Tesco Express, you'll get one point for every £3 you spend on petrol or diesel.
Please note that you can no longer earn Clubcard points at Esso-branded stations where there is no Tesco Express attached.
If you regularly fill up at such a station and it's impractical to go elsewhere, consider signing up to the Nectar scheme instead. It's now partnered with Esso so you may as well earn loyalty points from someone.
