As the king and queen of the music industry, Beyoncé and Jay-Z are collectively worth a staggering $1.5 billion (£1.12bn). To mark the first birthday of their daughter Blue Ivy in 2013, the couple threw her a suitably opulent birthday party, which apparently cost $200,000 (£149.5k). The bash boasted a $2,400 (£1.79k) cake, with $30,000 (£22.4k) spent on costumes, toys, and gifts for guests, as well as a staggering $95,000 (£71k) spent on decorative pink and white roses. The pièce de résistance? A diamond-encrusted Barbie doll that cost $80,000 (£59k).
That wasn’t the first time Blue Ivy had celebrated in style, with the pampered tot receiving gifts worth an estimated $1.5 million (£1.12m) to mark her birth in 2012. This included a $600,000 (£449k) gold rocking horse crafted by designer Ginza Tanaka, who first created the 24-carat solid gold toy as a 6th birthday present for Prince Hisahito of Japan back in 2006.
