How well do you know your rights?

From energy bills to faulty goods – do you know where you stand?

Students are losing out on £335 million per year or £240 each, according to Ombudsman Services, simply because they do not know their rights.

Only one in four students in the research had made a complaint despite experiencing a problem, whilst just over a quarter said that they felt too embarrassed to complain.

How well do you know your rights?

In light of the research and the new Consumer Rights Act coming into force today, we decided to quiz the loveMONEY readers on their own knowledge.

We have rights for a good reason, and we should exercise them whenever we’re being treated unfairly.

But would you know what your rights were if you bought faulty goods? Who could you ask for help in resolving a dispute with a trader? Take the quiz below and see how well you know your rights.

Correct answers will turn green, wrong answers will turn red, and you'll be able to see what other users have picked too.

Didn't bag a full score? Learn what the new Consumer Rights Act means for you, discover your rights if you change your mind and learn more about the Ombudsman Services.
