How rich are the stars of Roseanne and The Conners now?
Revealing the blue-collar shows' richest stars
At a time when sitcoms were often cookie-cutter and moralistic, Roseanne crashed into primetime with a sharper, more sarcastic kind of comedy about a working-class family. Set in fictional Lanford, Illinois, the groundbreaking ABC show, which initially ran from 1988 to 1997, became America's number-one series and a massive hit across the globe.
Witty, cutting and painfully honest, the show tackled everything from poverty to LGBTQ+ storylines. It returned in 2018 before continuing until 2025 as The Conners following Roseanne Barr's controversial exit. But which Lanford stars built the biggest fortunes?

Mega-rich guest and cameo stars
The wider Lanford universe attracted an extraordinary roll call of major Hollywood stars and future A-listers cutting their teeth. They range from Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Bruce Willis to Sharon Stone, Ellen DeGeneres and Joan Collins. The richest of the bunch is Ellen DeGeneres, who is worth an estimated $500 million (£373.1m), which, coincidentally, matches the fortune of the wealthiest regular cast member.
For this ranking, we're focusing on the main and recurring actors who were genuinely part of the Roseanne/The Conners world.
Cast members with no reliable wealth estimates
Not every major Lanford name has a credible public fortune estimate. Natalie West (pictured), who played Roseanne and Jackie's friend Crystal Anderson, was one of the original show's most memorable recurring stars, while the late Glenn Quinn became a fan favourite as Mark Healy, Becky's rebellious boyfriend and later husband.
The same is true of several younger The Conners cast members, including Ames McNamara (Mark Conner-Healy) and Jayden Rey (Mary Conner).
Maya Lynne Robinson, who played Geena Williams-Conner, also lacks a reported net worth.

Cast members worth less than $5 million (£3.7m)
The lower end of the ranking includes several familiar Lanford faces.
Lecy Goranson (pictured), the original Becky Conner, is worth an estimated $3.5 million (£2.6m).
Emma Kenney, who played Harris Conner-Healy in The Conners after finding fame in Shameless, is reportedly sitting on $4 million (£3m).
Jay R Ferguson, Darlene's partner Ben, is reckoned to have $3 million (£2.2m).
Michael O'Keefe, who played Jackie's husband Fred, and William Sadler, who appeared as Dan's friend Dwight, are both valued at $2 million (£1.5m).
Traci Lords, who had a recurring role as Lunch Box waitress Stacy, is worth an estimated $1 million (£750k).
Joint 16. Fred Willard: $5 million (£3.7m)
Comedy veteran Fred Willard had an estimated net worth of $5 million (£3.7m) when he died in 2020. In Roseanne, he played Scott, the romantic partner of Martin Mull's Leon Carp, appearing in the original show's later seasons as part of its wider LGBTQ+ representation.
Away from Lanford, Willard built an enduring comedy career encompassing more than 300 screen credits. He was especially known for Christopher Guest films including Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show and A Mighty Wind, along with Emmy-nominated guest roles in Everybody Loves Raymond and Modern Family.
Joint 16. Sandra Bernhard: $5 million (£3.7m)
Sandra Bernhard made waves as Nancy Bartlett, one of Roseanne and Jackie's friends, appearing across the original show's run and returning for the 2018 revival. Nancy was notable for being one of American TV's first recurring openly bisexual sitcom characters.
A boundary-pushing stand-up comic, actor and writer, Bernhard first broke through with her acerbic wit and scene-stealing turn in Martin Scorsese's The King of Comedy. She's appeared in The L Word, Will & Grace and Pose, and is set to star in season four of The White Lotus.

15. Estelle Parsons: $6 million (£4.5m)
As Roseanne and Jackie's overly critical mother Beverly Harris, Estelle Parsons brought an anxious, meddling energy to the Conner family. She appeared throughout the original Roseanne run, and returned for the revival and spin-off.
A highly acclaimed actress, Parsons bagged an Oscar for 1967's Bonnie and Clyde and scored an Academy Award nomination for Rachel, Rachel in 1968. She also built a glittering stage career, with multiple Tony nominations across decades on Broadway.
Joint 12. Martin Mull: $8 million (£6m)
Martin Mull, who died in 2024, had an estimated fortune of $8 million (£6m). He played Leon Carp, Roseanne's dry, sarcastic boss at Rodbell's diner, whose spiky clashes with her became one of the original show's great comic side dynamics before the pair eventually became friends.
Leon was also important to Roseanne's LGBTQ+ representation, later marrying Scott, played by Fred Willard.
Away from Lanford, Mull had a long comedy career, with roles in Clue, Mrs. Doubtfire, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Arrested Development and Veep, earning an Emmy nomination for the latter.
Joint 12. Michael Fishman: $8 million (£6m)
Growing up with the original show, Michael Fishman was just six when he was cast as Roseanne and Dan's youngest child DJ Conner. Fishman later returned for the 2018 revival and The Conners.
DJ's later storyline included life as a military veteran, interracial husband and father to Mary Conner, played by Jayden Rey. Fishman also worked behind the scenes, directing several episodes of The Conners, but was written out before its fifth season.

Joint 12. Sarah Chalke: $8 million (£6m)
Sarah Chalke joined Roseanne in 1993 as Becky Conner-Healy after Lecy Goranson left the show, becoming so closely associated with the role that she was later jokingly referred to as 'Second Becky'.
Chalke returned to the Roseanne universe in 2018 but in a different part, as Goranson reprised the Becky role. Outside of Lanford, Chalke became far better known as Dr Elliot Reid in Scrubs, and also appeared in How I Met Your Mother, Rick and Morty and Netflix drama Firefly Lane.

Joint 10. Danielle Harris: $10 million (£7.5m)
Teenage rivalry came to Lanford through Molly Tilden, the Conners' next-door neighbour and Darlene's school frenemy. Played by Danielle Harris, the character appeared in season five of Roseanne and later returned for a guest spot in The Conners.
An estimated $10 million (£7.5m) fortune reflects Harris' long career beyond the sitcom. A former child actor, she appeared in Halloween 4 and Halloween 5, later returned to the franchise in Rob Zombie's Halloween films, and also voiced Debbie Thornberry in The Wild Thornberrys.
Joint 10. Shelley Winters: $10 million (£7.5m)
A bona fide Hollywood legend, Shelley Winters played Nana Mary, Roseanne and Jackie's fun-loving grandmother. The character was warmer, freer and more carefree than her daughter, standing in stark contrast to the nagging, uptight Beverly.
Winters had an estimated fortune of $10 million (£7.5m) when she died in 2006. During her illustrious career, the star notched up more than 160 screen credits and two Best Supporting Actress Oscars, which she won for The Diary of Anne Frank and A Patch of Blue.

9. James Pickens Jr: $13 million (£9.7m)
While Roseanne was widely praised for LGBTQ+ representation, its original run included few Black characters. Among them was Chuckie Mitchell, Dan's longtime friend and poker buddy, played by James Pickens Jr. He later returned in both the 2018 revival and The Conners, which expanded its diversity and featured more people of colour in prominent roles.
Pickens has enjoyed a long screen career, with roles in The X-Files, NYPD Blue, Beverly Hills, 90210 and films including How Stella Got Her Groove Back. But he's best known to modern audiences as Dr Richard Webber in Grey's Anatomy.
8. Laurie Metcalf: $14 million (£10.5m)
Few supporting sitcom characters stole scenes like Jackie Harris, Roseanne's chaotic and endlessly funny younger sister. Played by Laurie Metcalf, Jackie became one of the show's defining characters, earning Metcalf three consecutive Emmy Awards in the 1990s.
Metcalf is worth an estimated $14 million (£10.5m), helped by her return in The Conners, where her salary reportedly rose to $400,000 (£299k) per episode after the third season. She's also forged a formidable stage and film career, garnering Tony Awards and earning an Oscar nomination for Lady Bird, as well as voicing Andy's mum in the Toy Story films.
7. Tom Arnold: $20 million (£15m)
A messy real-life marriage became part of the Roseanne story when Tom Arnold joined the sitcom as writer and recurring cast member Arnie Thomas. He and Roseanne Barr married in 1990, collaborated on the hit series, released the short-lived sitcom The Jackie Thomas Show, then went through an acrimonious divorce. All in the space of four years.
After Roseanne, Arnold moved into film, most notably playing Arnold Schwarzenegger's wisecracking sidekick in James Cameron's True Lies. He also created and starred in several other sitcoms and later hosted The Best Damn Sports Show Period.

6. Sara Gilbert: $30 million (£22.4m)
Darlene Conner grew from Roseanne and Dan's hilariously sarcastic middle child into one of the franchise's central figures. Played by Sara Gilbert, the role made her a breakout star in the original Roseanne, earned her Emmy nominations and later put her at the heart of The Conners.
Gilbert is worth an estimated $30 million (£22.4m), with her salary for The Conners reportedly $400,000 (£299k) per episode in the later seasons. She also created and co-hosted The Talk, appeared in The Big Bang Theory and worked as an executive producer on both the Roseanne revival and The Conners.
5. John Goodman: $35 million (£26.1m)
John Goodman became one of TV's most beloved sitcom dads as Dan Conner, Roseanne's big-hearted husband and the show's blue-collar anchor. The role earned him a Golden Globe during the original run.
Goodman returned for the 2018 revival and The Conners, eventually earning a reported $400,000 (£299k) per episode like the other core cast members. He's also cultivated an enviable film career, from coveted parts in Coen brothers classics including The Big Lebowski and O Brother, Where Art Thou? to voice work in Monsters, Inc. and his current role in The Righteous Gemstones.
4. Katey Sagal: $40 million (£29.9m)
After Roseanne's sudden death, Dan Conner found a new partner in Louise Goldufski, his old high-school friend, who ended up becoming his second wife. Portrayed by Katey Sagal, Louise was one of The Conners' biggest additions.
Sagal is worth an estimated $40 million (£29.9m), a combined fortune with husband Kurt Sutter. Long before Lanford, she became a sitcom icon as Peggy Bundy in Married... with Children, later voiced Leela in Futurama and won a Golden Globe for Sons of Anarchy.

3. Roseanne Barr: $70 million (£52.3m)
The self-styled domestic goddess turned working-class frustration into sitcom gold. Stand-up comic Roseanne Barr inspired and starred in the eponymous show, playing the loud, sarcastic and fiercely protective Conner matriarch. She became one of the highest-paid stars on TV during the original run. But her comeback ended in major controversy.
The 2018 revival launched to bumper ratings, only for ABC to cancel it after Barr posted a racist tweet about former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett. She was fired and gave up her stake in the spin-off. Roseanne was abruptly killed off and The Conners continued without her.
2. Johnny Galecki: $100 million (£74.7m)
Before The Big Bang Theory made him one of TV's highest-paid actors, Johnny Galecki was David Healy, Darlene's sensitive, arty boyfriend and later husband. Originally introduced for a short arc, David evolved into one of Roseanne's most important younger characters and returned in both the 2018 revival and The Conners.
Galecki is now a centimillionaire, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Needless to say, he has his stint as Leonard Hofstadter in The Big Bang Theory to thank. Galecki reportedly earned as much as $1 million (£746k) per episode at the show's peak, plus lucrative backend profits.
1. George Clooney: $500 million (£373.1m)
George Clooney's Lanford connection came early, with his recurring role as Booker Brooks, Jackie's boss and love interest at Wellman Plastics. It was a small but not insignificant stop on the road to his breakthrough as Dr Doug Ross in medical drama ER.
Now standing at half a billion dollars, Clooney's fortune has been powered by blockbuster films including Ocean's Eleven, Gravity and Ticket to Paradise, lucrative Nespresso ads, and the huge 2017 sale of Casamigos Tequila, the drinks brand he co-founded.
