When they're not tearing up the stage, these world-famous recording artists have plenty of cash to splash on luxury real estate and love nothing more than splurging like crazy on their cribs. When he isn't on stage performing with The Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger spends his time relaxing in his $2 million (£1.5m) Florida home. Located in Sarasota, the rock star reportedly purchased the home for girlfriend Melanie Hamrick in 2020. 

 With stunning living spaces, including this library with coffered ceilings and arched windows, it's the perfect place for him to unwind after the band's much anticipated 13-date, No Filter tour.

Should the 78-year-old want to entertain family and friends, the kitchen is the perfect spot with its oversized granite island and walk-in pantry. With four bedrooms and six bathrooms, it also makes the perfect family home for the star and his long-time partner, Melanie Hamrick, and their four-year-old son, Deveraux, away from the limelight. 

After having heart surgery in 2019, it seems that the star is finally ready to make his home his sanctuary, and with dramatic high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room, formal dining space and lake views, it's the perfect place. Many of the public rooms of the 5,700 square foot home open out to the small but idyllic back garden. 

Multiple outdoor rooms are scattered throughout the property, which includes a full summer kitchen, fireplaces, a new outside pool and spa and covered outdoor areas for dining. As well as all this, Mick and his family will also have access to a private clubhouse, tennis courts and a fitness centre. 

We love snooping around the homes of iconic musicians and KISS star, Gene Simmons, has one of the finest. Purchased for just shy of $1.4 million (£1m), the star snapped up his home in 1987, according to Robb Report, and went on to spend $11 million (£8m) sprucing it up into the home that stands today. Completed in 2000, the dramatic exterior leads through to a glamorous, traditional-style home. 

Informal and formal dining rooms mean that entertaining is easy and with help of the mannequin butler, it would make for a seamless evening.  Elsewhere there's a bar, a great room, an office and a two-storey hallway to greet guests. First on the market in October 2020 for $22 million (£16.2m), the rock legend relisted the home in March 2021 for $25 million (£18.4m) after replacing some electrics and swapping wood for poured concrete, and also adding new foliage. 

Boasting seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, the master bedroom is the pinnacle of luxury. With a grand double door entry it's a world away from the rest of the house with a sitting room and spa-inspired bathroom. According to TMZ he finally sold the pad in September to Max Nobel of Nobel Development Group after dropping the price to $16 million (£11.7m). The estate is rumoured to be in line for a remodel – we can't wait to see what he does with it.

In February 2021, Colpday star, Chris Martin snapped up a brand new residence with his long-term girlfriend, Fifty Shades of Grey actor, Dakota Johnson. The VIP couple purchased their first property together back in October 2020, paying a cool $12.5 million (£9.2m) for the privilege, following speculation that they had gone their separate ways.

The luxurious modern farmhouse was built in 2008 and once belonged to the American businessman and film financier, Ryan Kavanaugh. Located in the sought-after city of Malibu, California, the palatial pad extends 5,338 square feet and comes complete with stunning living areas, five bedrooms and five bathrooms. 

Inside, you'll find light-filled and contemporary living areas, with plenty of traditional appeal. There's a double-height lounge, a chic dining room and a luxurious kitchen kitted out with a walk-in pantry, copper counters and open shelving. Elsewhere, you'll find a cosy family room, a library, a screening room and a stunning master suite with a vaulted ceiling, ocean-view terrace and marble bathroom – perfect for a VIP couple!

Of course, there are plenty of exterior spaces for soaking up the sunshine. As well as balconies and patios, there's also a pool, spa and shaded pergola. Martin "consciously uncoupled" from Gwyneth Paltrow in 2014 and since then he's owned an array of homes in this exclusive coastal city. As well as a 1970s gem, he also scooped up a $5.5 million (£4m) ranch in 2019. The 'Viva La Vida' singer is also said to own the Malibu Playhouse, a 99-seat theatre complex that he purchased for $4.5 million (£3.3m).

This impressive historic home in Miami Beach, Florida, has belonged to Genesis drummer and frontman, Phil Collins, since 2015, when he paid $33 million (£24.3m). Dating back to 1929, the beautiful waterfront estate offers a 11,039-square-foot interior, a huge garden and skyline views across glistening Biscayne Bay.

The pricey celebrity pad sits on a 1.2-acre lot behind a long, gated driveway surrounded by palm trees. The charming Mediterranean-inspired residence features oversized living spaces decorated with 150-year-old reclaimed hardwood, arched windows, rotund ceilings and ancient wood beams. There's a light-filled family room with floor-to-ceiling windows and a chic dining area where Collins no doubt hosted plenty of VIP friends.

Elsewhere, you'll find a huge kitchen with white marble counters and chef-grade appliances, as well as a stunning master suite that offers unobstructed views across the water beyond. There are six bedrooms and eight bathrooms in total, making this the perfect pad for entertaining. Outside, there's a billionaire backyard, complete with a meditative garden, 6,000-gallon koi pond, swimming pool, spa and soccer pitch.

Yet Collins isn't the only VIP owner of this pad. In fact, the property was formerly owned by none other than Jennifer Lopez. She reported purchased the property in the early aughts, before selling up in 2005 for $13.9 million (£10.2m). In January 2021, Collins also waved goodbye to the estate, this time for $39.3 million (£28.9m) – how's that for property appreciation?

Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash bought this seven-bedroom, eight-bathroom Beverly Hills party pad with his ex-wife Perla Hudson in 2009, paying a hefty $7.3 million (£5.4m) for the privilege.

The showy mansion also features plenty of bling extras, including a movie theatre with plush stadium seating, perfect for chilling out in when the partying gets a bit too much, as well as a sedate library and office area.

Outside, there's a lavish pool, firepit, barbecue, skate ramp and organic garden. Slash and Hudson filed for divorce in 2014 and put the mansion up for sale. After more than two years on the market, it was bought by rapper Big Sean for $8.7 million (£6.4m). 

Nestled by the Regent's Canal in west London's leafy Little Venice, Noel Gallagher's six-bedroom, five-bathroom stucco townhouse is situated in one of the UK capital's most idyllic and high-end locations.

The Oasis co-founder paid $11.1 million (£8m) for the period property back in 2010. Decorated in a stark contemporary style, the house, which has three reception rooms, has a stylish grey colour scheme offset by subtly blingy details.

Like the other rooms in the house, the top-of-the-range kitchen doesn't disappoint. Slick in moody monochrome, shades of grey and accents of metal and mother of pearl, the space is glam without going all out.

The dining area is equally on the money with its Missoni-upholstered seating and Cool Britannia artwork. Surprisingly, Gallagher had trouble offloading the house and it became seemingly unsellable. He listed it for $16 million (£11.8m) in 2016 and again in 2019 at a knocked down $12.4 million (£9.1m). He reportedly sold the pad in 2020 for $11.1 million (£8.2m) after four years on the market.

Stefani snapped up the seven-bedroom, 10-bathroom pad together with her rocker ex-husband Gavin Rossdale in 2006 for $13.3 million (£9.8m) and off-loaded it in 2019 for just under $25 million (£18.4m).

The décor strongly reflects Stefani's inimitable personal style – think mostly monochrome with Day-Glo colour accents and chic retro touches. The interiors are filled with nostalgia and give nod to the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, and have a fun pop art feel.

The stunning Lake Tahoe retreat that English rocker David Coverdale called his home for 30 years landed on the market in 2019, with a $9.9 million (£7.3m) asking price. After failing to sell he lowered the price and reportedly sold the property earlier this year for $6.8 million (£5m). The Whitesnake and former Deep Purple frontman's property is the quintessential rock star lair.

Located in the highly desirable Lake Tahoe enclave of Incline Village, the unusual celebrity home has four bedrooms, six-and-a-half bathrooms and sprawls over 9,035 square feet. Of course, it rocks some fabulous unique features, including Coverdale's bespoke zebra skin-heavy rocker's lounge.

Adding to its rock star cred, the home also features a “rejuvenation sanctuary” complete with a columned indoor pool, spa and sauna, as well as a bar, enormous walk-in wardrobes, state-of-the-art stereo sound systems throughout and a zen grotto in the garden. How's that for billionaire bling?

Not long after they walked down the aisle in 2014, Adam Levine and his Victoria's Secret Angel wife Behati Prinsloo dropped $4.5 million (£3.3m) on a mere one-bedroom loft apartment in this handsome cast-iron building in Manhattan's SoHo neighbourhood.

Exposed brickwork and cast iron columns give the open-plan space a cool industrial feel, and the 13-foot-high ceilings make the loft seem even bigger than it is. The main living area has a kitchen with granite worktops, while the bedroom houses a jumbo walk-in wardrobe.

No expense has been spared in the marble-clad bathroom, which features a Jacuzzi bath. In any case, the loft proved to be too small for the Levines. When their first child was on the way in 2016, the couple sold the property for $5.5 million (£4m) a tidy $1 million (£740k) more than what they paid for it just two years before.

Imagine the parties that must have taken place in this Calabasas mansion, which was the home of hell-raising Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee for 11 years. The rocker forked out $5.8 million (£4.3m) for the six-bedroom, eight-bathroom villa back in 2007.

Lee put the property on the market in 2016 with an asking price of $6 million (£4.4m), but failed to find a buyer and ended up re-listing the villa in 2018 for the (relatively) bargain sum of $4.7 million (£3.5m) – significantly less than what he originally paid. While he snapped up a Brentwood mansion in May 2021 he's reportedly still trying to shift his Calabasas villa.

The décor is undeniably awesome but an acquired taste all the same, which may explain why the property was so tough to sell. The master bedroom for instance is peak rock star with its black walls, copious animal print, multiple Chinese lanterns and oversized mirrors.

Clearly not one for tacky rock star excess, Annie Lennox displayed her impeccable good taste last year by purchasing this minimal mid-century modern masterpiece in the Hollywood Hills for $4.3 million (£3.2m). 

Back in New York City, Keith Richards' former penthouse in Greenwich Village gives Adam Levine's Soho loft a good run for its money in the glam stakes. The Rolling Stone and his wife Patti Hansen acquired the property, which is housed in an Art Deco skyscraper, for $10.5 million (£7.7m) in 2014.

The couple listed the penthouse in 2016 for $12.2 million (£9m), but had to slash the asking price to entice buyers. After languishing on the market for a year, the property sold in 2018 for a relatively disappointing $9 million (£6.6m).

The décor is mid-century modern meets ultra-contemporary. Rock star-worthy touches abound, from the bass guitar to the quirky artwork. Note the “You're never too young” poster, a mantra the eternally young at heart Richards must repeat to himself daily.

Flea is famed for his zany antics on and off stage, but when it comes to property deals, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers bassist is stone-cold shrewd and level-headed. Together with his model wife Frankie Rayder, the rocker bought this two-house compound in La Crescenta, California, in 2018.

A steal at $4.3 million (£3.2), the futuristic property was originally listed at $7.9 million (£5.8m) in 2015. The first property was built by prominent mid-century modern architect Richard Neutra, and its retro, fashionably minimal décor reflects this.

Like fellow rocker Annie Lennox, Queen lead vocalist Adam Lambert has opted to invest in property in LA's exclusive Hollywood Hills. The American Idol runner-up parted with $6.5 million (£4.8m) in 2018 to snag this five-bedroom, six-bathroom trophy home.

One of two properties Lambert owns in the locality, the ultra-contemporary abode extends over 5,000 square feet and has a roomy open-plan main living area decorated in a sleek neutral palette.

The unadorned but undoubtedly luxurious décor carries over into the bedrooms and other spaces of the home, which include a bijou movie theatre, climate-controlled wine room and exceedingly well-equipped gym. 

The property's standout feature is the sensational exterior space, which contains an L-shaped infinity pool, dining area and relaxation terraces. It merges seamlessly with the interior for the ultimate indoor-outdoor living experience. Oh to be a bona fide rock star...

Much like David Bowie's back catalogue, his New York apartment is a piece of rock 'n' roll history. Located on Lafayette Street, between the sought-after neighbourhoods of SoHo and Nolita, the luxurious penthouse condo belonged to the iconic British singer between 1999 and 2016, when he tragically lost his fight with liver cancer.

The 'Modern Love' singer paid $3.8 million (£2.8m) for the apartment and we can certainly see why. Dating back to 1885, it can be found inside the former Hawley & Hoops candy factory, which was converted into 30 luxury condos in 1999. The 5,090-square-foot residence offers four bedrooms and four bathrooms, as well as some seriously cool living areas, where Bowie no doubt penned plenty of songs. There's an open-plan great room, a gorgeous library and an open kitchen.

Light-filled and decorated with sheets of glass, the spectacular modern home benefits from north, east, west and south exposure, allowing for obstructed views across the city from every single room. The master suite is a breathtaking oasis, measuring 1,000 square feet and featuring a fireplace, dressing room, luxury bathroom and terrace.

There's plenty of outside space too, made up of an expansive rooftop deck, two terraces and a pretty garden, all of which allow for unobstructed panorama. The stunning apartment landed on the market in 2021 and sold in less than 30 days for a cool $16.8 million (£12.4m) – but that's really no surprise at all!
