With home ownership among millennials at an all-time low, it might be easy to assume that this stems from being bad at saving. At first glance, the figures suggest this: in the UK the number of 22- to 29-year-olds with any savings went from 59% in 2010 to 47% in 2014, according to data from the Office for National Statistics; while in the US only 46% of millennials have any savings at all, according to CNBC.
