Juan Hernandez of Nassau County, New York defied all the odds by winning $10 million (£8m) in the New York Lottery's Deluxe scratch-off game – twice.

The wins netted him a total of over $13 million (£10m) after tax. Hernandez said he was still trying to spend his original 2019 winnings when he doubled his fortune at a Stop & Shop store in Hempstead in February 2022.
