Outside of music, Billy Ray has further boosted his fortune by acting. He made his screen debut in an episode of comedy series The Nanny in 1995 before landing his first leading role in the medical drama Doc between 2001 and 2004.

He's also racked up numerous silver screen credits over the years, including a small role in the David Lynch movie Mulholland Drive, action-comedy flick The Spy Next Door, and the wacky horror-comedy Sharknado 2: The Second One.

However, the country crooner is arguably best known for starring in the Disney Channel show Hannah Montana alongside his daughter Miley. The hit show aired between 2006 and 2011, and Billy Ray also starred in the spin-off film, Hannah Montana: The Movie, in 2009.
