Operating out of Serbia, the planet's biggest cost of living database “relies on user inputs and manually collected data from authoritative sources” to calculate average prices in locations around the world.

Numbeo mainly crowd-sources its data from over 823,000 contributors, supplementing their info, which is continuously flowing in, with data from reputable organizations, including government institutions. To ensure accuracy, the data from these official sources is given three times more weight than the user-submitted info – and it's updated twice a year.

We have taken a snapshot of the data which is accurate at the time of publication but inclusions, prices and rankings are all subject to change. All prices are given in US dollars, and each of the country's currency.
