Denzel Washington is best known for his roles in hits such as Malcolm X, Philadelphia, and The Siege. The critically acclaimed star has won two Academy Awards: Best Supporting Actor for war movie Glory (1989) and Best Actor for crime thriller Training Day (2001). 

The popular leading man has also established himself as a director and producer, making his directorial debut in 2002 with biopic Antwone Fisher. 

Washington was the 10th highest-paid actor of 2023, grossing $28 million (£22m). This was largely due to the third instalment of his action-packed The Equalizer franchise. In total, his showbiz career has earned him an estimated fortune of $300 million (£238m).
