Could a ransomware attack create fuel shortages for the US?

A ransomware attack on America's largest fuel pipeline, which carries 45% of the East Coast's supply of diesel, petrol and jet fuel, could lead to fuel shortages. The Colonial Pipeline became compromised by the cyberattack on Friday, and hackers threatened to leak the information online unless a ransom is paid.
