Would more income solve your money problems?

In the past I put myself in the (incredibly stupid) position of running my finances to the wire: I'm talking £11 a month spare after paying the bills, getting to work and living on one step up from cat food - that was for clothing, socialising, any non-essential travel, toys, holidays, etc, etc. After I pulled myself through this, I vowed to never again run my finances on the "red-line" of my income generating motor ... to stretch a metaphor. This has left me with a different way of thinking about money to a lot of people I know, but I'm interested to know if people on lovemoney.com think the same way I do or not :)
