I seem to remember an option called something like a Deed of Gift where you commit to give a sum to someone at some point in the future, but the 7 year countdown to it being IHT free starts when you make the commitment. Is this a figment of my imagination or can you still do it? If it is still an option what is the right name for it and how do I do it?
