Is the current economic system satisfactory?

I'm 27. For as long as I can remember I've been dissatisfied with the economic and political system we live in. I find the notion of spending my creative energies at "work" for somebody else to be grating, to say the least. I'm very dissatisfied with how governments are controlled by big business. When I hear a politican speak, I hear rhetoric and waffle; I see inaction and the same old same old re-hashed and regurgitated over and over again. When the banks got into bother towards the end of last year I was overjoyed; I thought that this was the opportunity to welcome in a better system. I recently discovered a video on youtube which I found fascinating, entiteld "Zeitgeist Addendum" - be warned, it's about 2 hours long! But all of it is very relevant to the situation we find ourselves in today. It outlines how we've got into this situation and suggests an alternative system to live by. I'd be very interested to learn what people on lovemoney.com think of the ideas in the Zeitgesit Addendum film. Many thanks.
