European charity income tax rebate
If I donate money to a charity registered in an EU county (Germany to be specific), is it possible to reclaim the UK income tax on my donation?

I'm not sure I have a definitive answer for you, but it looks like it may at least be becoming easier to make tax-efficient "cross-border" donations:
