6It might be wise to discuss this or have your daughter discuss this with your local council advisor.
When I was on Job seekers allowance, I was living in a house owned by my father , and was told that as I was a relative I would not be able to claim back any 'rent'.
It might be different if you have a formal tenancy agreement and your daughter is not already residing in the house, but you should check first as I don't think the council like paying rent to relatives who would have let the person stay there for free anyway if benefits were refused.

66There are housing benefit rules governing such arrangements.
One of the questions on the HB application form asks if the applicant is related to the landlord. Check with the local authority and get their advice in writing if you are told it is OK!
