my mom received a telephone call saying for 49pounds they could stop these sales calls so she paid on a credit card and received a recorded letter telling her they had registered her on tps which she could have done herself free she as contact the company answer phone email does not exsist web site is not available what are her rights

    I suspect that they also use a filter to block calls where the caller has masked his phone number, as well as registered your number with TPS.

    You are right. TPS is a free service, and you can do it yourself. You can register any time, day or night. It will take 28 days to come into operation. Their number is:

    The problem with TPS is that they can't police overseas calls, which most of them seem to be these days.
