    It depends on what sort of risks that you want to cover.

    As above, a lot of contents insurance policies will cover items such as laptops for loss, damage or theft, anywhere in the UK. Company specific insurance is often available through the sales merchant as is a warranty etc.

    I got my home insurance through Endsleigh and adding my laptop to the insurance (MacBook Air, covered for loss/theft/damage outside the home) would have added almost an extra £120 to the policy.

    The girl on the phone said she'd look into how much it would be to cover it with gadget insurance instead and it was around £60 for the year (£5 per month), so a much cheaper option!
