I work for the United Nations on a temporary contract and currently live in Africa. I am a UK resident but my salary is tax free as per all UN salaries. Am I eligible to get an ISA?

If you still classify as a UK Resident, but are not Ordinarily Resident or a Crown Employee then you are not eligible to pay ISA contributions.

You can keep existing ISAs but not pay any more conttributions.

However, if your salary is tax-free, presumably you don't pay UK tax, so why bother with an ISA? You wouldn't have to pay tax on normal accounts. You can get an exemption form from the provider, which would then have to be returned to them.
