Which gadgets have you bought which have turned out to be truly life-changing or at least really useful and which others have ended up gathering dust?

There are certain things we've seen advertised which seemed great at the time - Autochop food choppers, Buttoneers, Sandwich toasters etc. Some are time-saving and a boon, others are a waste of time and money. I recently bought a mini halogen cooker and it has been the most amazingly useful thing I've purchased in a long time. Mini fryers, sandwich toasters and food choppers have proven to take more effort cleaning than they were ever worth.
