The Government plans to cap tax relief on donations. Will charities suffer unfairly?
In the Budget George Osborne announced plans to cap the tax relief granted on charitable donations at £50,000 (or 25% of income if that was higher). A survey by the Charities Aid Foundation has found that 9 in 10 charities believe this will result in a drop in charitable donations from wealthy donors. So should the Government reconsider its plans? Will charities suffer unfairly as a result of them? Remember, if you have a question about money, be sure to ask it in our Q&A section.
