Are you waiting for PPI compensation?

There have been reports that some people who were mis-sold payment protection insurance (PPI) have waited months for their compensation payments.

I'd be interested to hear if anyone has experienced this, or if your PPI compensation claim was promptly paid.

Thanks

Simon

I've received a letter from the Ombudsman to say they are inundated with claims, and to expect a prolonged wait. This follows several requests for additional information, and going back and fore with the original insurers and the credit card company involved, over several months.

I was awarded £8500.00 last year but felt that the figure was wrong as we had calculated that it should have been at least £12000. I questioned Lloyds/TSB about this and they eventually admitted that they had 'forgotten' that I was on a different interest rate to the one that they had used. They have now, in the last week, come back offering a further £2800. Now how can an organisation like Lloyds forget the interest rate? It strikes me that they have been pursuing a offer them something and hope that they don't check policy to wriggle out of a fair settlement. I was convinced at the time after consulting my accountant that the figure was wrong and have now been proved right, I wonder how many other people have been sold short. They have this time insisted that I sign a document agreeing to full and final settlement which makes me now wonder if there is still some owed. Trust is totally out of the window.

    Hi

I have been waiting 5 weeks so far for a PPI payment from NRAM (formerly Northern Rock) - I have already made a complaint to them in writing as I was advised in writing that it would be paid within 28 days and have now been told that it will be a further 2 weeks wait although I don't hold out much hope for them to get their act together in the next week or so - It's so fustrating that you can only speak to their call centre but not to the payments team to find out a definite date when it will be paid.

Why are they so useless and why do they take so long?. They really don't know what customer service is that's for sure

I was awarded a settlement by Lloyds TSB on 4 December 2011 and am STILL waiting for the payout. I have telephoned twice to try and hurry the payment up but all they say is they're sorry and the wait is due to sheer volumes of PPI claims. I pointed out when I telephoned them last week that the advice on their website says that claims will normally be dealt with within five working days. No doubt they have the money they've put aside for these claims somewhere where it will earn them the most money, in the meantime, the poor people are still waiting for their payments. It's DISGUSTING ... surely we can do something about it? After all, if I had owed them this amount of money for 5 months they would be hounding me by telephone and sending me threatening letters and putting black marks on my credit file. Why can't we do the same to them?

I would be interested to know if anyone else has had problems with AVIVA PPI policies.

Was bought direct from AVIVA (or one of their affiliated companies).

Did not provide any cover (as expected)

Gone through the Financial Ombudsman, who could not decide one way or another - "Yet ruled in favor of AVIVA"

How can I now get anything back or DO I JUST AVOID AVIVA and suggest that anyone that has dealings reads their policy exclusions very carefully.

Watch out for, changes to Self suficinecy period mine went to 90 days with no notification.

Did you purchases PPI from AVIVA as an ADVISED SALE only for them to wriggle out later claiming that they only give INFORMATION only, so you dont have a leg to stand on.

    Dear All

    Keep away from I-Smart Solutions.

They have nothing smart regarding costumer service. If you call the help line, get ready to stay over 30 minutes waiting and guess what... the lines goes dead. I made a PPI claim against Northen Rock (now NRAM) using I-Smart Services and the agreement papers came through my home address back in August/12 which I signed and sent back to I-Smart on the next day (I have a record of it as I suspect I could be dealing with a NO-Smart company). I-Smart told me over the phone that it could be paid in 28 days. By the end of the 28 days, I rang them chasing my money, I-Smart said that NRAM hasn't received from them the agreement and they would send it to NRAM again, and ofcourse I would have to wait more 28 days for their mistakes. What annoys me is the fact that I-Smart has NO RECORDS to prove to NRAM that they sent to them my agreement signed. How smart is that? I have the post office receit showing when I sent my agreement to I-Smart. Now we are almost in November (2 days to go) and I haven't seen a glimpse of my money. I rang I-NOT-Smart and they blame NRAM (the blaming game has started). The funny part of it is, if you call I-Smart Solution costumer service un-help line, a recorded message says: Press 1 to recommend I-Smart to a friend. It made me laugh and I have told them, the only friend I would recommend them to is BBC One "Watchdog" program people. They would love it, don't they? lol
