part balance transfer?

Hi , I have a credit card that is now £5800, the interest on it every month is astronomical and although i aim to pay at least £200 its getting nowhere. I have looked into the balance transfer idea but the total credit they will give me is £1800. Am i able to transfer £1800 of my existing debt onto this new credit card? therefore having one credit card 0% the other as normal? just to try and reduce it more rapidly?? help please.
