I just checked my Bank account and found that British Gas have taken out £163.72 instead of £59 on my direct debit. Is this allowed as I haven't had anything in writing to say they were taking this much. It was my final bill before leaving them but in no way have they told me they are taking this amount. This now means my mortgage payment got refused so now have to pay extra charges
