Today was a Bank Holiday, but did you get an extra day off work?

It seems that whether you got an extra day off depended on the wording of your contract of employment or on the goodwill of your employer. Did you get an extra day off or did it come out of your annual entitlement? For example, if your contract says 28 days including 8 bank holidays then you were entitled to an extra day. However, if it says 28 days including bank holidays then you weren't entitled to an extra day - today would have come out of annual leave. Mike
