For a mortgage held in the name of only one partner in a marriage is the other partner liable in case of a default ?
I am deciding between the risk of jointly vs separately applying for a mortgage. As a way of preventing the bank coming after my other assets in case of a default on the mortgage, can the property and mortgage be take out in only my wifes name ?
