can anyone help regarding contents insurance rates?

my insurer has increased my premium overall by around 20%. industry standard ..... I have obtained a split between building and contents but do not have last year's split to compare with. the calculation is £1.95/1000 for building and £8.13/1000 for contents. the property is thatched and there are fewer insurers quoting these days offering (my agent tells me) the equivalent level of cover and service. the rate for the contents seems to me to be very high. can anyone say if this rate is anywhere near the average for this type of property. thank you very much
