Seatwave help!!
Could anybody advise? My husband thought he was doing me a favour by trying to get Justin Bieber tickets for our daughter for his concerts in March. The tickets are not officially released until Friday 19 November 2010 and have a face value of around £35.00. Unfortunately, not being very well versed in these things, he has bought two tickets from Seatwave for £127.00 per ticket plus various charges giving a total amount of just over £300.00 - ouch. Not only did he book for the wrong day but I actually needed 3 tickets and had no intention of paying any more than the face value as advertised on Ticketmaster. On researching this company, I am horrified to find thousands upon thousands of complaints as well as articles from the financial press and a feature on "Watchdog". I have discovered that tickets are not covered by the Distant Selling Regulations and Seatwave are impossible to contact, there is literally no contact information on their site at all. I managed to find a generic e-mail address via a review website and have written to them but I really don't hold out much hope. Is there ANYTHING at all we can do to cancel this purchase? Unfortunately, he paid for the tickets on his debit card, so no protection there. I am absolutely gutted, I know he meant well but I am so cross! I can't understand how tickets can be on sale (in numbered rows and seats) when they have not even been released yet and we have no guarantee at all that they will arrive or that they even exist! If anybody can advise any way forward, I would be so grateful. Thank you.
