I want to change my contract which only 9 months old, being a 18 month contract to change it to a pay has you go.

I got a free mobile with 24 month contract at £10 a month from another company. Is there anything I can do to remove my first contract or change it at all.

The contract pays for the phone over the term of the contract as well as providing you with a phone service.

You might be able to negotiate a lower settlement amount, but they are entitled to the current value of all the payment for the duration of the contract. However, I wouldn't expect much of a discount as interest rates are so low.

You might have been better off continuing with the contract to the end ... now you will have to pay for any PAYG calls you make with that phone in addition to having paid for the remaining 9 months.

Thanks. I have a 2 year contract with another company costing me £10 a month, where I would been paying more if had continue with 3 to the end of that contract. For what I paid to clear it I would had paid more had I kept on. Any way I have broadband with this new mobile company, so I get some perks like the offer of a free phone with the low payments. I not use 3 much for PAYG has it is any how.
