Read your contract, but almost certainly you can.

Are you sure that a DMP is right for you?. The Motley Fool board dealing with Debt can be a great help in figuring out your options.

We also have our own, new Dealing with debt board here on lovemoney.com - but I also recommend the Fool's board.

I went bankruft two years ago, was the best thing that I did. Now I have complete control. I went through other ways of paying money back and it would have taken years to pay it back on the small amounts asked at the time. Bankruft solved the problem and I use only a debit card or pay cash only in a shop or direct debit set up so that PayPal or other can take payments my bank account. Who needs a credit card, if you use your head and the money You have with your partner will get what you want without getting yourself in trouble. First remove your problem and then you will have a clear head afterwords, especail in this day and age, you need it. Make your own mind up and not listen to other people, since they not solving a problem but causing you pain and confusion at the end. Do the best thing for yourself, since you not regret it and will feel better inside yourself. But do control yourself where I know someone having been bankrufted twice so temptation is still there for weak people.

    Hi

If you are paying a fee for your debt management plan, then it would make sense to change to a non fee charger so that any money you do have available is going towards clearing your debts faster.

I have attached a link from Lovemoney that lists other services that offer free debt advice.

    http://www.lovemoney.com/news/make-your-money-go-further/debt/where-to-get-free-debt-services-4840.aspx

CCCS is an independent registered charity.

We don’t have the facility to be able to simply transfer your Debt Management Plan from your existing provider as you would need to have an appointment with one of our debt counsellors first. If the counsellor is happy to offer a DMP as a result of your appointment, we would then discuss with you how to end the current arrangement you have and setting it up with ourselves. CCCS does not charge for setting up or administering a Debt Management Plan.

If you would like us to take a look at your situation to see what options you have, you would need to book a telephone based appointment with one of our trained debt counsellors by calling our helpline on 0800 138 1111. Lines are open Monday to Friday 08:00-20:00.

Alternatively, you can use our online electronic facility called Debt Remedy. Debt Remedy will assist you in completing a financial statement which includes information on your household, employment, income, expenditure and debts. All this information is used as a basis to determine the options available to you to deal with your situation.

If you would like to get immediate advice on your situation this link will take you directly to Debt Remedy http://www.cccs.co.uk/ref/drcu

    Hope this helps,

    Sue
