Its covered in uk by the FSA/FSCS now up to £50,000, but always split you money into seperate banks that are not connected.

I have a fixed term deposit with ICICI that matured today. When I tried to close it I found it had been 'automatically rolled over'. I phoned them and insisted I wanted to close it but they refused point blank. Itried to do a 'premature close' of the rolled-over account online and the website wouldn't do it.

I have filed a complaint with the ombudsman.

    BE WARNED.
