Ebay versus car boot sales

I was hoping to take a chunk out of my (diminishing!) credit card bill by selling on some old stuff - mostly books, CDs, and some decent brand name clothing.  I looked on Musicmagpie for the CDs but the offers were low and Greenmetropolis offers good rates for books but is pretty slow.  Now considering putting some stuff on Ebay or possibly a car boot sale. Can anyone offer advice on which is better? And if it is the car boot sale, can anyone recommend one in Central / South London? Preferably one that doesn't require a car.
