My mortgage deal expires on 31.10.2010. How much in advance could I apply for a remortgage?

they usually stay valid for six months ... you could reserve something now .. or a few things ... and go with the best nearer the time.

Go for it now and reserve whatever seems best. I wouldn't do several now, I would prefer to watch the market especially for a better deal.

Interest rates are expected to rise. We just don't know by how much or how soon. I assume that current offers include an allowance for rises anticipated. If those rises don't materialise mortgage rates might reduce further.

It depends on whether the government and Bank of England want to control inflation or let inflation erode the huge debt left by Labour. At the moment they show no signs of trying to control inflation.
