I have jusr got married and I need some help!

I have just got married (and I'm very happy thank you) but I need some advice. I don't know where else to ask this, so thought I'd try here, as most people here know lots more than me about a lot of things :D I know I need to change my name (somehow) but who do I inform? What sort of things do I need to change? I have two years left on my passport, should I change it now or wait? Is that even possible? Do I need my marriage certificate to prove that I got married too? My other question is about my daughter, who is 6. My husband is not her father, but she has asked if she could have the same name as him. Her father has wanted nothing to do with her since she was about one yearsold. Is it possible to change her surname and if so, how do I do it? Do I need her fathers permission, because if I do, I can't ask him as he hasn't kept in touch. I'm sorry for all the questions, but this is something tht baffles me and I hope that someone can help me. Thank you.
