Does anyone know if there is a refund procedure in place for all valid HIPS

I put a house on the market less than a year ago, and thus had to purchase a HIP as the house is still on the market and the HIP valid, is there a refund procedure in place?

The HIP is still valid .. you just don't need to have one any more.

Unfortunately I suspect that means there's no refund.

You have already made use of it for a year. It will continue to be valid but just will not be compulsory. They carried out the work which was necessary so they needed paying for it.

It may still be an advantage to have a HIP rather than not, but it could also indicate that it has been on the market for some time. For a while, there will be many properties in the same boat as yours and they are likely to have an advantage for a few months.

I actually posed this question to my estate agent, as I am only part way through the HIP process myself. The answer I got was that if the cheque had been cashed and at least part of the work done, there was no refund due ...
