Just been delayed returning to UK from USA by 9 days, due to flying ban. Insurers say extra costs incurred not covered by travel insurance...??
To quote insurance company "Our policy cover for travel delay and abandonment excludes claims for withdrawal of service on the order or recommendation of The Civil Aviation Authority." Surely because all flights were banned by the CAA this should be more grounds for costs should be covered! We are out of pocket by £1500 for 9 day delay, for accomodation and car hire only, not including food etc. Can this be fair?
