I have been called by a representative of a company called Titan Telecom, plaiming to reduce my phone costs. Is this a reputable company?

They claim to be cheaper than BT and Virgin.

But when I asked them to send me details about their costs they were vague and said I could change my mind within 14 days if I was unhappy with theit service. Any comments?

It seems to be reputable judging from its website: http://www.titantelecom.uk.com/company/default.aspx

The company's code of practice is also approved by OFCOM, which also implies it is reputable:

However, are you a small business owner? Titan's offering seems to be tailored to small businesses who are on a BT business rate. It doesn't look like domestic customers would make a significant saving, if at all.

I don't know about Titan but most reputable firms advertise thier tarriff's for rveryone to see and to enable prospective customers to tailor specific plans to thier needs. Do you need broadband as well as the phone. All of the top telecom firms are offering great packages and is in print for all to see. I have recently pointed my sister towards looking at Orange they offer several packages including one which offers unlimited broadband and calls including line rental for £21.00 per month which i feel is'nt bad but all of the top firms have similar packages depending on your needs. Titan may well be quite reputable but make sure you see exactly what they are offering in print, by experience i know how easy it is to be talked into an agreement without realising it, luckily i had asked for written confirmation which proved totaly different from the phone conversation which prompted me to thankfully decline thier offer.

I hope this might be of some help to you.

I was approached by Titan, who told me they could save me £££ - can't remember quite how much, but the caller did quote an actual two- or three- figure number.

I took details of their rates and worked out a spreadsheet with my last quarter's phone bill using Titan's prices.

I worked out that if I'd used Titan for that quarter I'd have saved the grand sum of 6p.
