How to tackle Capital One Bank

I am having trouble making minimum payments on my credit cards for various reasons. Halifax are giving me six months of paying token payments (5 left) and will review the situation then. Capital One will not enter into any arrangement whatsoever and are threatening all kinds of action. At the moment am in receipt of State Pension and other benefits.I do not condone my actions but what can i do.I have no assets like property or cars The alternative is to go bankrupt and call it a day but at seventy years of age i would find it a stigma to do this. Credit rating at my age does not bother me now.
