A Raleigh Racer when I was 11. Not sure you can beat getting a new bike when you are a kid. Someting about the general shiney mechanical nature of it, coupled with it being your first REAL mode of transport.)

When I was 7 I got given a kitten for christmas, it was brilliant. Waking up to a find a soft little black and white bundle on the end of my bed was the best thing ever.

Following my disappointment about the lack of Donald Duck merchandise available during a family holiday to Disneyworld (it was all about Mickey, Minnie and Tigger), I was delighted to receive the hugest Donald Duck I had ever seen on the Xmas after we got back.

My parents had somehow managed to smuggle it back, not sure how they managed it as it must have pretty much needed its own suitcase!

The best present I ever received was "peace and quiet". I use to think my parents used that as a cop out when myself, my brother and my sister use to annoy them from November about what they wanted for Christmas. Now at 40 and my own wee family, this gift is priceless so long as all the family are around and well. Happy Christmas.

Like SoftwareBear - Technical Lego, specifically the car with working independent suspension, 4-cylinder rear-mounted boxer engine, and 3-speed gearbox.

Getting my son something very similar this year!! Not sure whether it's really for him or me - both I guess.
