I am off to NZ and Australia for 3 weeks over Xmas and want to know the best way (and cheapest) to spend over there. I have a Lloyds TSB Duo Amex and MC which earns me airmiles and charges me 3% each time I use it which of course I will pay off as soon as I am home but should I carry dollars with me or just draw what cash I need out of the cash point? (I have a Lloyds Platinum Account.

37According to a recent article on our site, the Nationwide FlexAccount Visa Debit card is the very best way to spend abroad.
Author Serena Cowdy says, "Nationwide Building Society is the only provider that does not make any additional charges for using your card abroad. If you get a Nationwide FlexAccount Visa Debit card, you won’t be charged any extra conversion or transaction charges - no matter how you use it."
