JoelBrandon - although your comment amused me, the £53.01 is the amount off of the RRP, not the starting price - so Father Xmas is being a little more generous than you first thought!

I am afraid- from my point of view- there is a lot of rubbish listed above that is totally unnecessary to life in general , or particular.

What about some nice car tyres, or motorbike tyres. Good spanners and tools.

Anyway, £30 for jeans?, no way, Tesco have them much cheaper and they are fine.

Seems that these jounalists would not know frugal if it bit them. Discounted stuff which was overpriced and an unnecessary indulgence in the first place is not my definition of frugal. Frugal is going shopping at 9pm in Tesco and getting all the bargains reduced to 10p  - or getting brand new shirts in the charity shop for £3.50. Frugal isn't just for people of limited means; it's a lifestyle - and considering the supposed ethos of this website it is clearly one that many of those writing these pretentious nonsense articles fail to embrace.

Should you want an electric toothbrush, I'd think twice before spending £15.00 on a bottom of the range model at Tesco. Special offers abound. Look no further than Argos where you can pick up an Oral b 3000 for £39.00 which is the same price as Amazon.

maelstrom I think you'll find the electric toothbrush is from Debenhams and is Oral B Vitality D12. It's slightly cheaper than the same model on amazon but you can get the senstive version on amazon for £10.99 http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000RNVVG2/ref=asc_df_B000RNVVG2496607/?tag=pr-hpc-21&creative=7966&creativeASIN=B000RNVVG2&linkCode=asn

sorry I'm being picky!

electricblue, I don't think any of us need half this stuff but we all do like a bargain! Yes, I know it's not a bargain if I don't use it! Just been to tesco by the way to buy lots of reduced bread to go in my freezer!
