How to add your first MoneyTrack account

In this guide we'll show you how to add your very first account to the MoneyTrack tool. You can either watch this video:

Before we can begin, you need to be registered and signed in with Lovemoney. You can do that by clicking the sign in/register button on the top right hand corner of the Lovemoney home page. Then click on the 'Track' tab near the top left of the home page. This will take you to your MoneyTrack dashboard:

Now we can add an account. Here's what to do:

1. Click 'add an account' in this section:

Alternatively, you can click on 'Account settings' at the top of the page. 

This will make another window pop up.

2. Select whether you account is an online bank account or credit card.

If you select an online bank account or credit card, then enter the name of your bank, or part of the name and hit 'Search.' If your bank is not UK-based, select to 'Search all providers.'

The search results will appear on the right side of the window. 

3. Select your provider and click 'Next.'

4. Enter the security details you use for this bank when you use their Online Banking and click 'Add this account.'

The MoneyTrack service immediately starts downloading your transactions and balances. In the meantime, repeat the above steps to add more bank accounts and credit cards. 

Troubleshooting

- If you experience any errors you may want to click 'edit and delete accounts' to re-enter your bank security details as it's easy to make mistakes.

- Downloading of transactions can take a few minutes the first time around - the system should tell you when the process is complete. If not, click 'Refresh' to get the latest data.

- When you cannot see your balance after adding an account and 'account settings' page has the following information:

Please make sure that your bank account details are entered correctly (an accidental space in login details is a frequent error) and then try to refresh the account a couple of times.
