In the build up to Christmas each week we'll bring you the deals offering you the best cashback on your Christmas present spending.

The best Christmas present cashback deals this week

Christmas is a time to both give and receive. And if you play your cards right with cashback websites, one thing you can receive as a result of your own Christmas shopping is cold, hard cash!

Each week between now and Christmas we'll be rounding up the top cashback offers on the UK's two biggest cashback websites, Quidco and TopCashback. Do your shopping through these sites and you'll soon make a few quid back.

How cashback websites work

Cashback sites work on a very simple model. Shop via the tracked links on their site and you'll receive a percentage of the money you spend at the retailer back in the form of cashback.

Let's take an example. I know that I want to do some shopping online at Next. Rather than go straight to Next's website, I go to my cashback website of choice and see if they have a deal with Next. Let's say that this cashback website has a 5% cashback deal. By following the link to the Next website from my cashback website, my spending is tracked.

So if I spend £100, I'll get 5% (£5 in this instance) back in the form of cashback.

I hate the whole idea of cashbacks. I don't understand what is in it for the suppliers and how they got lured into this system which makes shopping more of a bore than it was already. It must make the goods more expensive than they would otherwise be for those who haven't got the time or technical competence to shop around for all these different deals on-line. Either that or the shareholders are paying for the cashbacks.

Firstly For Him & For Her gifts mearly point out that they are most suitable for a particular gender therefore is not descrimination. Mere pointing out a fact cannot be descrimination. Thats like saying they should aim advertising for Tampons more at the male market!

Secondly although you pay more and then get casdh back off it is a form of advertising for the company/brand. Yes it would be great if you could get them cheaper in the first place but then the products or brands would not be advertised so you would not know about them. Therefore you would have to do just as much research into finding a product and the best deal. At least with the cashback site they are in one place!
